If you want to learn to lead climb on ice and improve your techniques, this course is designed for you! Very small group sizes (max 4)
allows us to provide instruction that matches your skill and ambition level and provides a highly enjoyable weekend for all.
2010/2011 Dates: Dec 18-19th; Jan 29-30th.
Cost: $300 + GST
Maximum Group Size: 4
Meeting Spot & Time: 8:00am in Canmore (details will be sent out to all participants well in advance)
Custom Dates: Available December - Early April for groups of 1 to 20. Inquire for pricing.

- A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to book your spot on this course with the remainder due 2 weeks prior to start
date.

Payment can be made online, easily and securely, using a credit card number or PayPal account. Alternately, mail us cheque

Prerequisites: At least a few days of previous ice climbing experience, preferably up to WI4. Participants must also be
comfortable with basic climbing skills such as belaying. If you are unsure about your readiness for this course, please just
send us an e-mail and we can help you decide.
Agenda
Days 1 & 2 - On this course your guide will strive to provide each participant with instruction that is most relevant to his or her skill level.
Therefore, it is impossible to provide an exact agenda, but there will be 2 full days of climbing in the Canmore, Banff & Lake Louise areas. The focus will be on lead climbing skills and anchor building, but we can also practice mixed climbing, multipitch skills, steep ice techniques, gear selection & maintenance, and
just about anything else you would like to learn!
Optional Day 3 - Multipitch Ascent: Course participants can add on a discounted day of multipitch climbing in groups of 1 or 2 people. $350 for 1 person, $200 each for 2 people. You can either choose a route where you have some chances to lead, or a more difficult one where your guide leads everything. Please request this option in advance. Gear List
Group gear such as ropes, ice tools, and carabiners will be provided by Canadian Rockies Alpine Guides. You can either bring
your own personal gear or borrow most items from us at no charge. Please just let us know if you would like to borrow anything
for the course.
Ice Climbing Boots and clothing is not available for loan and must be rented or purchased. Rental and purchase information can
