COVID 19 UPDATE - May 24th, 2020

In order to protect our guests, guides, the public, and healthcare workers we are cancelling all courses & group trips until the end of June. All guests affected by these cancellations have been contacted with options for refunds or rescheduling. As the situation progresses and more information becomes available we will start making the difficult decisions about the remainder of the summer climbing season but are currently hoping to go ahead with all our awesome climbing trips & courses from July onwards!

Although we have had to cancel the group courses for now, there are still some great options for custom trips & instruction! Due to provincial regulations and permit requirements we will initially only be able to offer trips to individuals or members of the same household who live within Alberta, but this should change as provincial guidelines relax. Although we still need to avoid climbs that require close contact, we are excited to offer the following options:

  • Guided scrambles and non-technical mountaineering, including glacier travel. Some of the good options include Mt. Athabasca normal routes, Mt. A2 or Boundary peak at the Columbia Icefields, Mt. Cline, Mt Temple SW Slopes (mid-July onwards), Mt. Hector, Mt. Kidd scramble, Mt. Fable scramble, Middle Sister scramble, and many many more!
  • Beginner or instructional rock climbing days in the Canmore or Nordegg areas.
  • Glacier travel & crevasse rescue instruction at the Columbia Icefields (once the National Parks open).
  • Snow & ice climbing skills (once National Parks open).
  • Rock rescue instruction.
  • Guided adventure hikes and trail running.
  • Customized instruction on a wide range of topics including navigation, route finding, hazard recognition and avoidance, avalanche basics, rock climbing route development, any ropework skills, etc.

I wish you all well and hope we can all start heading out climbing again as soon as possible!
