If you want to learn how to lead traditional gear protected rock climbs, this course is
designed for you! Very small group sizes (max 4) allows us to provide personalized
instruction that matches your skill and ambition level and provides a highly
enjoyable weekend for all. During the course everyone will have lots of opportunities to
lead trad climbs ranging from 5.3 to as hard as you like!

Cost: $300 + GST
Maximum Group Size: 4
Meeting Spot & Time: 8:00am in Canmore (details will be sent out upon registration)
Custom Dates: Available May - October for groups of 1 to 20. Inquire for pricing.

and we will provide you with an electronic invoice which can be paid online, easily and securely, using a credit card or PayPal account.

Prerequisites: Must have prior outdoor rock climbing experience including leading bolt protected sport climbs. If you have no lead climbing experience, consider taking our Sport Climbing Course to get you started.
Agenda
Day 1 & 2 - On this course your guide will strive to provide each
participant with instruction that is most relevant to his or her skill level.
Therefore, it is impossible to provide an exact agenda, but there will be 2 full
days of climbing in the Canmore, Banff & Lake Louise area. Emphasis will be on
proper placement of nuts & cams, anchor building, natural anchors, and other trad climbing considerations.
Topics such as multipitch skills, basic self-rescue, and use of pitons can also be practiced.
Optional Day 3 - Multipitch Ascent: Course participants can add on a day of multipitch climbing in groups of 1 or 2 people. On the day after the course, this is offered at the discounted rate of $350 for 1 person, $200 each for 2 people. Please request this option in advance. Gear List
Group gear such as ropes, carabiners, and cams will be provided by Canadian Rockies Alpine Guides. Use of all personal climbing gear can also be provided at no extra charge.
