Guinness Gully

A beautiful multipitch ice climbing adventure above Field, BC. Guinness Gully is one of the famous “Beer Climbs” which include Carlsberg Column (WI5) and Pilsner Pillar (WI6), to name a few. This route is one of the best WI4 routes in the Rockies. The climb starts with a 40m pitch of WI3 or 4 ice leading to a nice snow ledge belay. Above this a short but steep section of vertical ice gains the next snow bench. The final section is a massive 75m curtain of ice climbed in two more pitches.  For more experienced climbers we can continue a couple hundred meters further up the gully to Guinness Stout which has 3 more great pitches including a very pumpy pitch of WI4+/5 to finish!
